Jared's Epic Party Dallas 2014

This is coverage of Jared's Epic Party in Dallas that I shot for the internet Nintendo collecting forum, Nintendo Age.

With over 50 features, I did my best when not manning my own booth to try and capture what I could in terms of the spirit of the party. And no, I did not get footage of the monkey. Rest assured, it was there and crawling on people's shoulders, I saw it with my own eyeballs!

Features featured in this featurette:

Feature #1: VANILLA ICE!!!!!!1!
Feature #3: Tone Loc
Feature #6: DJ Baby Chino
Feature #7: Time Machine
Feature #9: Diamond Jim Taylor
Feature #10: The Ninja Turtles
Feature #11: Sumo Wrestling Suits
Feature #14: Free Arcade
Feature #15: VIP Lounge
Feature #18: Burton Gilliam
Feature #28: Fatboy Beanbag Chairs
Feature #29: Video Armageddon
Feature #31: Shredder
Feature #34: Robocop

If you weren't there, man... you missed out. Not shown was the Guniess record setting nerf gun battle, the new Wizard of Oz pinball machine, or The Turtle Van that was parked by the line to get in.

Retron 5 - Too Many Games Expo 2013

Just in time for the release of the Retron 5, here is an interview with them from this past summer at the Too Many Games Expo in Philadelphia. I shot this for the internet Nintendo collecting forum, Nintendo Age. Highlights include the new menu system, save states, tons of options, and best of all, cheats!

This interview took place on June 16th, 2013. I was extremely hungover and forgot to get at least half a dozen pick up shots that would have been nice to have when editing.

Nintendo Age PRGE 2012 Recap: Day 2

Just in time for PRGE 2013!

This is coverage of the 2012 Portland Retro Gaming Expo that I shot for the internet Nintendo collecting forum, Nintendo Age. Interviews include Will Lewis (founder of the Portland Indie Game Squad), Chris Jorgensen (inventor of the Game Dock), Audrey Angel (granddaughter of Intellivision creator), Scott Boothby (builder of cool stuff), and the 70's ninja warrior himself, Bill Carlton (I believe multiple world record holder).

Highlights include PRGE attendees being goofy in the background, interview interruptions by the announcer, and me misspelling Chris Jorgensen's name on the lower third because I forgot to press record when he spelled it out. Doh!

And to give you an idea of how much stuff goes on at PRGE, in two videos I didn't even have a chance to touch on any of the panels they had, the PRGE auction (which was hours long), or the Tetris World Championships, now entering their fourth year.

Nintendo Age PRGE 2012 Recap: Day 1

This is coverage of the Portland Retro Gaming Expo that I shot for the internet Nintendo collecting forum, Nintendo Age. Interviews include Marc Ericksen (former video game box art illustrator), Greg Pabich (current maker of Cheetahmen II), Gamemaster Howard Phillips (Nintendo Power legend), and I believe Ken House (Dig Dug world record holder), who is uncredited because I'm not 100% sure it's him.

Highlights include an explanation of why Megaman is holding a pistol on the cover of Megaman 2, how we finally got a copy of Cheetahmen 1, and why the world's first gamemaster wears bow ties!
