6 Months off work.... what to do.

So, as some people may know, my second son was born September 26, 2011.  Thanks to the wonderful country I live in, and my awesome job I can take up to 6 months paternity leave @ 100% pay.  Since my wife is a stay at home mom, she doesn't get any maternity leave, so plain and simple I took the spring/summer off.

Now, the big problem is, what should I do with this time. Here are my goals in the order I need to do them:

1. NESDev competition organized
2. Develop a fricken NES game

I also have a bunch of other stuff I'm also working on.  I'm working on the art for Kevins Leisure Suit Larry port.  And I'm still beta testing for a couple of other projects.  However, all of this stuff takes a backseat to my family.  At the end of the day, they are what is important to me, and I don't want to waste my six months off and not spend any time with them.

Moving on. I still owe MRN a demo cartridge that I haven't worked on in a while.  However, I have been inspired recently by Rob Bryant aka ROTH.  If you haven't checked out the dogcast @ http://www.slydogstudios.org... then you are missing out.  He is making a podcast 5 days a week showing his progress.  It seems to be working.  It has been 2 weeks and he is almost completely finished a game. This might be a strategy I'll have to try. We'll see, a 2.5 year old and a 5 month old keep me pretty busy! (I don't know how Roth does it, he has a baby as well).

Well, that's enough for now, back to the Jack & Coke.
