From the Publisher
Armed for Battle is a unique, real time strategy (RTS) game for the Nintendo Entertainment System.  The game allows you to build up your own kingdom, seek out enemies in the surrounding land, and send out battle parties to invade, all while fending off incoming attacks.  The game features 20 levels in its normal Story Mode, but also has a feature for creating your own battles against up to 3 enemies for endless replay value.

Official Trailer

The Limited Edition of Armed for Battle was available through an auction on NintendoAge.  40 copies exist, and most are spoken for.  There is still a chance to get it though.  Five copies will be auctioned at a future, undetermined date, which will likely happen prior to my next homebrew release.  If you don't want to miss the opportunity to bid on a copy, contact me through the blog's contact form and I'll add your email to the notification list.

If you purchase the box and manual, you are in for a treat.  They are of the highest quality, and are sure to bring back the nostalgia of a new NES purchase from the store.  With 24 full-color pages, the manual is the largest one made for a homebrew NES game.  But, if you choose to purchase only the cartridge, here is the manual, so you'll know how to play.

Extra features not shown in the instruction manual (these were added after the manual had been printed):
  • Pause button during the building phase (Press Start while in World View)
  • Pause button during battles (Press Start)

Minor Bug List (these bugs will not affect gameplay, and you can try the Demo to see just how minor these bugs actually are):
  • infrequent occurrence where an extra piece of graphics is drawn to the screen in Castleview
  • infrequent occurrence of a temporary music error while switching screens
