I'm just wondering if anyone knows of good forumns covering vintage toys. I have some random weapons and accessories for old figures and am trying to figure out what they went with.

Try retrojunk.com. It's pretty dead these days, but there are some die-hards who know shit you can't believe anybody knows, who might still be around.

Facebook has an awesome group called vintage toys and action figures. I have seen alot of people just post pieces of toys from pre 1990's and its amazing what some of those collectors know.

If they're Transformers related, I can tell you exactly which figure they belong to just by looking at a photo.

I'll keep you in mind. Transformer toys occasionally pop up at auctions around here and every once in awhile I find 80s GI Joes. How's your knowledge on Go Bots?

Try getting a facebook invite to "Toys Are Us" and "Trade Sell Collect Retro and New Video Games and Toys" along with "Collectors Toy Shoppe and Auction House" as well and you'll be well covered.

most weapons stick out as to what series they go to just by looks.

Yojoe.com for the gi joe stuff, yakface or rebelscum for star wars stuff.

transformers/gobots a few of us can tell you who/what/when just by seeing it.

same with star wars, i can tell you about anything if it's toy related - i sold my vintage colection last year , only deal in 6" now

other series of toys/manufacturers all have distinct colors/weapon style.

Was just about to pop in here about Rebelscum! One of my favorite forums, and an EXTREMELY knowledgeable group over there.

Just something for you to reference: http://counter-x.net/gobots/index...; This should solve your gobot curiosity issue.  A couple years back I had it in me to try and start grabbing some of them as they kept popping up at this flea market for some karmic reason or another and a few others at a local toy comic etc shop.  I fizzled out on it and bailed, but I did stick with a few of the Super Gobot lines kind of, as some are Custom Robo and Custom Robo DX which are Japanese figures I sought them out and recently added a fourth of those.  I'm pretty decent at figuring out G1 Transformers, Gobots, and other odd Japanese Robots and kaiju of the Godzilla and Ultraman varieties.  That stuff is kind of my 70s and 80s toy vice when I go looking for things to keep.
