I swear, I feel like our planet has been slowly inflitrated and re-purposed over the past few decades by a race of aliens bent on removing any semblence of self-identity or creative thought.

I'm all for showing each other respect (when that respect is deserved) but since when did the Human race transform into a blubbering, manic-depressive, self-important menagerie of whiners?

...Okay...well, fair enough but why has it gotten so bad lately? I'm starting to feel like I understand what the old geezers are talking about when they ponder on the "good 'ole days". No, they probably weren't as good as we remember them...but at least they made you feel like you belonged on Planet Earth.

Alright. Rant over. Obey. Consume. Reproduce. Sleep.

It feels like most of my coworkers come into work having just read the trending stories on the side of Facebook right before entering the building, and then initiate conversations based on the #trendings as if they are unique conversations that they just thought up. I've started calling them out on it even.

I posted this before, but:

Millennials are a bunch of socialist snowflakes.

Gen Xers are a bunch of tuned out slackers.

Baby Boomers are a bunch of freeloading hippies.

The Silent generation was a bunch of out of touch worker drones.

Everyone else is dead.

We're doomed.

It's been bad. People just speak out more now, instead of holding their tongue, because they face little in the way of consequences. People hated being beaten and disciplined by their parents, so they didn't discipline their kids as much. People hated not receiving recognition that they thought they deserved, so they taught their kids that they were special and gave them plenty of recognition. Each generation raises their kids how they wish they were raised. Each new generation, though, takes what they have for granted and craves for more, believing they deserve better, and so the cycle continues. I'm sure plenty of people realize this, but they decide to blame others, typically the youth or elderly, because nobody wants to take responsibility for problems that they helped to cause.

Generation discrimination is stupid and the majority of people who hate on millennials can't even define what a millennial is.

Remember in the Fellowship of the Ring when Aragorn threw that piece of fruit and hit him in the head after asking for second breakfast?  Yeah, that's an apple.

I've been sitting here for a while trying to think of some redeeming quality of my generation... I've got nothing. There are a few good ones though, we're not all bad.

Also, great movie!

It's the same with every generation; you're unfortunately judged on your weakest links.   In the day of social media and cameras everywhere, the idiots now have an instant platform.

And every generation shares some blame in the shit going on now.   Baby boomers won't retire like they're supposed to, Gen Xers are the ones that coddled their kids way too much, etc.

Too true.  People get mad when you tell them the truth.  Shouldn't matter if it hurts their feelings or not.  If it's true (and verifiably so), then they should learn to change their thoughts to accept it.

On a more serious note, I've played EarthBound today for so long, I feel all tense and mentally worn out.
Then you called your mother and felt better?

If bickering on the internet has taught me anything, its that noone in the history of the world has ever been wrong about anything

I was more meaning trends and stuff like 'safe spaces' and all that nonsense. All these groups acting on behalf of other people getting offended for them. That kind of stuff.

John Carpenter made some Quality action movies. They Live, Big Trouble in Little China, and Escape from New York are all great movies with a good soundtrack to match.
