And millions of people are investing in bitcoin technology without understanding what it does. Ignorance has never stopped people from being passionate about something.

Not just millennials. I distinctly remember some Hollywood elites who should have known better praising Hugo Chavez as a "hero." Those chickens have predictably come home to roost.

23 percent seems like a relatively low percentage of ill-informed morons or genuine political dissenters.

Surprised it is that low.

Millennials are a bunch of socialist snowflakes.

Gen Xers are a bunch of tuned out slackers.

Baby Boomers are a bunch of freeloading hippies.

The Silent generation was a bunch of out of touch worker drones.

Everyone else is dead.

We're doomed.

Yeah yeah... sarcasm at it's finest
The thing is, supposedly millenials are the most educated generation ever. However, polls such as the aforementioned seem to contradict the afreomentioned

Always found this amusing:

Leadership consultant Simon Sinek has been told that millennials – people born after 1982 – are 'entitled, narcissistic, self-interested, unfocused and lazy' - but he believes it is not their fault... they were told they were special all the time, they were told they could have anything they want in life just because they want it.

Every generation is more educated than the last one, and the complaints stay the same. It's just a variation on "those darn kids have it so easy."

When you think about it, that's actually indication of progress. We could go back to the dark ages where it was an accomplishment to live to 35.

I'm not one for survey numbers, as they don't always defy everything accurately. Hell, how many kids did they survey were actually trolling? That's something that can't really be defined by a survey.

The life span thing isn't like that at all - it's so "low" due to infant and child deaths. If you lived to 16, you were expected to live into your 50's and 60's.

I think in this case the complaint, at least in my mind, simply is  "how do hell does such a large percentage of millenials think mass-murderers (Stalin, Kim) are heroes??"

In looking at the actual study - http://victimsofcommunism.org/ann...

I can admit I get confused by methods of how these studies are done. The report says an online survey of 2300 people ages 16+ from the general public was done last fall. Then stratified sampling from a 2010 survey was used to get the correct Millennial group out of those 2300 people along with variables from a 2007 religious study to further narrow things down for this...I'm not an expert, but if a study or survey doesn't clearly tell me the specific sample size and lay out the methods in plain, average-person lingo, I have some reservations when they say these percentages that represent an entire generation's ideology regardless of it being Millennials, Gen X, or Boomers

For sure there are issues and biases with any poll. However, with over 2000 people survived you probably have decent statistics. I didn't look into the specific details myself.

I feel the same way. The world's rife with unstable variables that's it's hard to generalize and make a solid fact from them. Okay, we got the age demographics, but what of enviroment? What about location? What are the actual questions being asked?

Definitely polls have to be taken with a grain or two of salt. Again, I think once you get into large statistics, even thousands, it's a decent sample. But yes. There are issues. Anyone read Freakonomics? It's entertaining and for the most part I agree with it, but definitely not all of it. At the beginning of the book they argue that the legalization of abortion can account for almost half of the reduction in crime witnessed in the 1990s. However, other scholars disagree, including some that claim they made statistical errors. Anyway, I thought about that point   and by the way, the book is definitely worth reading errors and all!

You know you're a liberal college SJW activist when you regularly attend rallies with your TRUMP IS A NAZI/FASCIST!!! sign (with Hitler mustache drawn on him of course)...or in my college days (early 2000s) BUSH IS A NAZI/FASCIST!!!...and you always make sure you wear your lucky shirt which looks like this:

Along with your favorite poster in your dorm room, which looks like so:

PS: Bonus points if said person "just likes the shirt/poster" and has no idea who he is...just was told he was some big folk hero for their cause

There are 330,000,000 people in this country.

There are tens of millions of people that qualify as "millenials".

Based on what theirontoupee is saying, oF the 2000 people surveyed, all of them weren't even the millienials the stat is claiming to apply to.

I would definitely want to see very detailed methodology of how that sample is adequately representative of anything.

I think that's not an adequate definition of "millennial." Just turning 18 in the year 2000 isn't the same as having your formative years in the 2000s.
