I've been going for the full set for the PS2 for around 3 years now. Just finished off the black label NTSC set this last weekend and am super happy to do so. Thanks to everyone who helped me out here as many of these games have come from NAgers. I also had to sell a bunch of doubles in order to keep going for the set and many members also helped me with that. Special shout out to a few members specifically who really helped me out a ton along the way: Gutling, Captainmorgandrinker, Trade-N-Games, babywuchki, K1rkl4nd. You guys really helped make this possible  .

And for the set!

Figured I'll do a little write up for anyone interested while I'm posting.

Some collecting notes:

- Finding a complete list was a pain in the rear. There are a few floating around out there. There are a few youtube videos. K1rkl4nd has a very comprehensive list as well. Here's the list I ended up using for my set. Probably still has some errors in it, but I've been trying to keep it updated / accurate.
PS2 NTSC Master Game List (1794)
- If you're going for CIB games, don't waste your time picking up games without manuals thinking you'll find them later. The last few months have been just trying to find random manuals for me. I almost always ended up just buying another copy of the game. Not worth the time / money.
- Know what you're going to collect. This set is massive. I knew it was big going into it, but it's hard to imagine how much space it takes up. I had to dedicate a wall just to display it. Are you going for Greatest Hits only? There are 310 of those alone. Are you going for variants too? Well, have fun with that

The Rares
Thought I might as well and give my opinion on the rarest games from the set. I didn't want to give a rank order or anything, so I just went through my set and picked out games that I didn't see very often. Ended up with 30 total. Rather than listing them, I put them into groups. This is only my perspective on their rarities - I didn't go through and look at data or anything. 100% subjective.

Goddamn, good job! I'd never do a full set myself, I haven't the patience by far. Endlessly impressed, am I.

If you haven't tested your NHL 2K6 you might want to a relatively common misprint on that

Linux didn't make the list? I've been looking for a long time and have never seen it.
Is X-Files really that hard to find? I found it for pretty cheap just a few weeks after deciding I wanted to try playing it, I had no idea it was uncommon. Still haven't played it.

God damn that's a lot of PS2 games...

So here's a question for you...got a list of exclusives? Now that is hard to figure out for any system. Especially when something used to be an exclusive but years later they port it out on another system...

I'm trying to go for a set of exclusives and while I have an idea of some of them...others I'm still learning about...there's no full list that I know of online. Wikipedia does an ok job but it's missing several/includes other countries games/excludes games that have been ported over years later.

That's badass, Doc.

But what I really want to know is, where does Mister Mosquito rank among your favorite PS2 games?

The x files game also surprised me. I didn't realize the were so many greatest hits either. I have roughly 150 and just assumed there couldn't be twice as many out there.

Congrats on a full set it looks great.

Congrats! Always nice to see a collection thread of a fullset for any platform, and a backdrop to the challenges involved. When life settles down, I'd love to play all the gems on the PS2, so many bloody titles to choose from!

I only included games in the list. So things like Linux (operating system) and Codebreakers and Jampacks (demos) didn't make the cut.
Even rares for the PS2 are fairly common compared to other systems. Every game on this list except maybe 2-3 are usually available at any given time. And like I said, it was a subjective rarity. I think I've only come across 2 X-Files in 3 years.
