Misprint, Rare, or Fake Contra NES Label? Found a Contra with no writing inside the black Nintendo Seal of Quality

I found this copy of Contra at a game store and I snagged it because I was intrigued with the fact that there is no writing in the Nintendo Seal of Quality. The label looks legit, doesn't look like a repro at all. Obviously the label has some heavy sun damage, but none on the actual seal. But I can't find anything about it, and even repros have the words inside the seal. I just don't know if it's rare, a misprint, or if it's actually fake.

The label is the right amount of glossy, and it's placed perfectly where it should be. So to me it doesn't look fake, but I wanted to post it to see if anyone else has seen this before.

Thanks!

Also, it looks like the one guy is yellow (when he is supposed to be more red), but the yellowness of him comes from the sun damage (because you can see part of the bicep on the guy on the left yellowing).

Looks like a misprint. If you were going to fake or reprint a label, why change the quality seal?

Thanks! I can't really find any misprints on Ebay even, so I'm really just trying to figure out what it's worth.

Maybe it's just me but looking at the total condition of that label I would not be surprised if it got soaked with something funky with all the odd discoloration and ribbing of the sticker up that total side. It would not be impossible to think something got under there and screwed up the sticker under the outer laminate layer. Most of that label the more I look at it looks just thrashed from some dirty water or other wet substance that wrecked the colors on most of that sticker.

Due to the size and shape of the damage and other factors. I would have to agree with the post above. It's definitely damage from some liquid.

As for the seal it's happened before.

Probably gonna be worth whatever someone will offer for this copy. Since this is a popular game it could be a nice conversation piece, but other than that it's hard to define a specific price for such an item

More a sign that it's legit. Retail games used a multi-step process to print the seal and there are lots of misprints because of it.

Fakes usually just print the whole thing in one step.

I'd argue the game would be worth a good bit more depending on the buyer because of the misprint had the label not been entirely sauced over and destroyed with all the color damage and ribbing look to the sticker. Right now it's just nasty with a misprint. Unless you could find that one collector willing to pay up some for a stand in until a nice one could be had I think you're just out of luck. Some people may even be turned off by the unknown of what nastiness caused that as it's not something as pure as clean water or alcohol. For all you know it could be a hurricane katrina cart and that's toxic feces/sea water that floated under there trapped all these years and that's enough to make anyone's skin crawl a bit or hesitate.
