Also they're not rare in the slightest, so people sitting on large lots of them trying to slowly sell at high price... they're probably lowering the prices so as to not be sitting on a bunch of now low value games.

The demand was met with bucket loads of bootlegs

Can't stress the importance of fakes, it's a common low value set of games but fakes are everywhere buy from a reputable source.

No, I hate Pokemon.  I grew up in Russia and Pokemon didn't do very well there at all, all kids hated it. Not sure whats up with Pokemon and Russians but the whole cartoon series and toys did not go well there at all.

Bootlegs are not the only reason for the drop. The older games always go up around the time when a new Pokemon game comes out, and then they go back down a month or so later. Bootlegs have been around forever and yet prices still spiked when Pokemon go came out.

Pokemon Yellow was briefly fetching over $40 last Summer and now it's about a $15 game.

I think he's alluding to the fact the pricing seems to have fallen below pre-Pokemon Go levels even.

Right, they are as low as they were 10 years ago suddenly. These were solid titles the last few years pre-Go.

Also they released them digitally on 3ds eshop. The demand went down due to bootlegs and  digital availability. Of course it went up when pokemon go came out. There was a small spike and they returned to the trend they were on. The price of pokemon games were up way before pokemon go. They trended down for awhile. I dont trust any totals on averages of the games from game value now or price charting. Too many fakes infiltrating the market to lower prices that are just impossible to catch since these are sold daily.

The pokemon craze wasnt pokemon go. That was just another bump. Every time another game came out the old ones were rising in price. The alibaba express bootleg shit ruined the value of them.

the bootlegs drove it down. Not pokemon go phasing out.

another factor was teh eshop release of the originals on 3ds

You know what else could be driving down the prices is GameStop selling the old games for reasonable prices. $18 for Pokemon firered is better than $30 from most other places. GameStops readily available supply could lead to their prices becoming the new norm.
