Ugh! LOVE those! I remember when they first hit Japan. I wanted to import one soooooo badly! I passed on a few about at about the time that the Wii launched when they were at their lowest prices, regretted it ever since! Those systems are awesome!

Sadly no because the q has four little tiny feet they had to make a completely different gameboy player for it. It looks like this.

I have the Q the Gameboy Advance player for it and Lik Sangs English Remote Cover for it! This hands down is my favorite piece in my collection. I remember moving once and cleaning out my gaming room with my wife, fter everything was packed I went back in and the Q was still in there, I asked her why she didn't grab it and she said "Of everything in that room I'm not going to touch the one thing that if I drop will be an instant divorce!" I guess she had a good point. Let me go fish some stuff out and Ill post a Pic.

I'm jealous I've been looking for that over lay there pretty difficult to track down. Yeah there super fragile I've actually had three of them  I traded one to wiggy a couple years ago had a broken DVD tray and one of the two I have now had a broken tray aswell. Wiggy actually 3d printed a new rail for the DVD drive.

So this is the First Q ever released ordered it when they first came out, I do not have that stupid push button n the bottom mod that would interfear with the GBA Player, I got the mod that you hold power down for 6 Seconds and it switches to NTSC and Regio Free DVD

Here is a Pic of the remote as you can see its In english

I also sat down with a Japanese professor for a couple hours once a week for a few weeks and she translated the entire manual for me, I was going to create an english manual ith photoshop years ago when I owned gamecubeq.com but lost interest as nobody had even heard of it and that was that.

As to Nintendofaan234 My DVD tray once went off track and would no longer close, It was back when I had some strange LED TV that always had issues and as per warranty They sent a repair man out to fix it, while he was there I asked him about the Q he stated he could fix it easily no prob for only $50, I staated it my be difficcult to get parts and he told me nonscence. A week later he dropped the Q back off good as new! Best $50 I ever spent, but he was loking at me funny when he said "Whet the heell is this thing and where did it come from? The people t Panasonic refused to even speak to me about ordering parts and hung up on me and none of my other suppliers had even heard of it" I laughed and explained its orgin, he stated that he just clened the track, re greased it and  replaced the 0 ring things with  standard Panasonic DVD player ones. Might want to have someone who works on DVD players take a look t it

Oh sorry I didn't see you had it fixed lol! Thats really awesome what those 3D Printers can do I'm shocked you even took the thing apart, I was considering at one time installing a Qoob but after looking inside seeing there is a mess of PCB boards that would just fall everywhere said screw that. Glad I never did too as the Gamecube lasers are weak and found the laser seems to die in less than a year using burnt media and I would hate to lose my Q.

I've got parts if anyone needs them. Just send me a message.

I bought a Q with a broken disc drive. I took it apart to try to fix it...and I ended up just parting it out. I've still got lots of parts for sale or trade.

A Gamecube and a DVD player? I wish this got released in the states! Also they look a lot like futuristic toasters to me, which makes them even more cool.

I have been obsessed with these since I first stumbled across them on ebay back when they were released. They look absolutly amazing especially when they are lit up blue in a dark room. Also the fact that they play dvd's is another wonderful feature. I still do not own one but I totally plan on buying one at some point.

I guess I can quit lurking to show off a little. Here's mine with a few other cubes and a Visteon GBA thrown on top just because I could. Technically it's an accessory. I have plugged it into a GC to verify that it does work (you have to remove the plastic cover on the GBA end of the cable). Which of course means that you actually can play GC with those funky Visteon controllers...in case anybody ever wondered.

Does anyone have the issue of EGM when they were announced? The original system was going to be Gold, I like the silver better but Tossed all my EGM's years ago and would be cool to see that photo again.

also Ninty64X, It was originally slated to be released in limited quantities to the U.S. but a month before its launch Panasonic said "We have decided not distribute the console world wide but instead keep it to a local market as we consider it to be a "Japanese Thing"" <-- Yes I am not kidding that is what they stated (That would be racisim in the US lol)

I admit...I would have liked to get one fully decked with a modchip, gb player, broadband adapter, component cable, memory cards, and wavebirds. It is a beautiful console.

I need one, tiny little part. I'll take a pic tomorrow so you can see what it is (easier than explaining). It's tiny and I would be eternally grateful if you had it and would let me take it off your hands.

Hate to bump an old thread, but the 3D printed rails from Rose Colored gaming look like a dream come true to anyone who has a Q with broken rails (which seem like a majority of them).

I've contacted Rose Coloured Gaming to see if they still make the replacement rails, or would mind sharing the file so I can get them printed myself. Unfortunately, they said they don't make them anymore, so that's that.

Does anyone have access to the CAD file (or whatever the file format is) for making new rails, or knows someone who would be willing to sell some? I've been at my wits end for quite awhile now, trying to hunt these down for me and a buddy of mine's Q's.

Is that what causes the tray to stick? I have one that's in pretty good shape but the tray doesn't always want to open.

I would guess that's most likely due to a worn out belt on the drive. It's a pretty simple fix if you take your time. When you screw the drive back in though, make sure you don't overtighten the screws or you'll risk cracking the tray/rails and get yourself into the situation that myself and a bunch of others are in.

I too have been trying to find a file. I already have a 3d printer and 4 broken drive Panasonic Q systems... That are just waiting for a drive rail solution.

Basically someone would need to take the time with a set of calipers and measure out the original parts and input it into a program for 3D printing.

One of my rails may be intact, but I'm not 100% sure off the top of my head. If it's solid, I can get the measurements and pop them over to you.

Anything else specific you would need in terms of measurements?
