The thread's Genesis:
After watching The Geek Critique gush over Metroid Zero Mission's tie-ins and call backs with a focus on what came before and "what will come after," I couldn't help but notice that he missed a BIG one. I mentioned it in the comments and all the replies were people who were surprised and had no idea, leading me to share it elsewhere (here). But why stop there?
What cool little details do most players miss in a particular game? How did you notice? I think this might work better if we limit it to one detail per post and take turns!
I'll start by rehashing that one:
Remember the derelict/crashed space ship from Super Metroid? Note it's position on the map. Now finish Metroid: Zero Mission and take VERY close notice of the location of the Space Pirate ship that you blow up.
Doesn't that trash can robot look a little...
familiar?
The robot/droid things were a clear attempt to make the connection undeniable. The wrecked ship is definitely tied to the Space Pirate vessel.
Here is that Geek Critique video:
I've got several more tidbits lined up for other games.
