Whats wrong about it.
It states a bunch of times that you will be bidding on the photo not the actual carts.
If people are too lazy to read the auction then they should not cry about it.

Maybe someone thinks its a nice photo

That's pretty messed up, even if it was said in the auction's title.

All that means is someone's about to get fucked with a $50 photo of NES games, lol

It does says in the auction description that the games arent included, but this is written on almost the last line in the auction description. I wont argue too much about this, but i guess that the seller could have made this much more clearer at least.

It also says "All games in tested working condition.". Why does it matter if the games are working or not if it is only a photo? Hehe.

And the auction is also listed in "Video Games > Wholesale Lots > Games". Are you allowed to sell photos in this category? I know that the auction is mainly listed in "Art > Direct from the Artist > Photographs" as well though, but still.

But ye, if you read the description of the auction, then it shouldnt be much doubt that there is only a photograph for sale.

Get to the point of the matter. Who legitimately sells pictures of stacks of random NES games? No one. It's a new spin on an old scam.

The first 2 lines of the item description are "Up for bid is an original photograph of a lot of nintendo games. The photograph is by Erik Dalzen and is titled "NES Nintendo Game Lot Rad 48 Cart Classic". Measures 8x10 inches, including white border. Limited edition, 1/10. Signed, numbered, and dated on the back." If someone buts a bid on that thinking they are games, that is their fault. This is obvioulsy a listing that is not for video games.

it would be the buyers fault for not reading, but the sellers intent is to deceive the lazy. Oh well, gotta read the auctions.

I see both sides, you should be reading auctions but he is trying to make it look like the games up for auction. This guy is shady in my opinion.

Just goes to show people will buy anything. Why would rarities matter if you're just bidding on a photo? It does give me the idea of taking a nice pic of my set, blowing it up and framing it.

People are dumb, plain and simple. Some people just don't take the time to read listings thoroughly before bidding. Look at my recently ended listing:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI....

Guy told me he didn't know it was just the case & manual.

Ok, but you see, your PICTURE even states that it's clearly just the case and manual.  That guy who bidded in it was just high or something when he bidded on it.

Well It's ended for over 90 bucks!! I sent the seller a message.
"You are a true artist as you say.. A SCAM ARTIST!! Good Luck with your feedback!!"
He is as bad as those dicks who used to sell empty boxs for brand new xbox systems. Ebay put a stop to that.
I agree you should read the full ad before bidding but this is rediculous.

I agree with you guys who get frustrated with people who don't read auctions. I can't even count the number of times when I've had the following happen.

  • I have a rare/uncommon empty box, and figure some collector on eBay will want it to complete a set.
  • I clearly state that fact in the title with all caps (i.e., "CASE ONLY") and in the description with bold red font.
  • The box sells for a fraction of the price of the normal game.
  • The seller received the game and sends me a freak out email stating that "I'm a scammer" and didn't include the game.
  • I remind them what the original listing stated and tell them I'll gladly accept a return.

My best guess is that people just search by item specifics and don't even both to read the listing/title. Or perhaps people get so excited about a deal that they don't even both to read why it's a deal.

if you list a box only without a game and clearly described it, i don't see any problem with that. True some buyer will buy the item stupidly thinking that the game is included. But listing a piece photo of nes games, that is total bs and hats off to the scammer. Even i almost bought it but after seeing that the international shipping is only less than 10, i sense something is not right. Who in the world wants to buy a piece of photo of videogames.

Looks like the winner was a big reseller from the feedback amount. Won't they be surprised when they get a photo of NES carts and ot NES carts to sell...
