So, I've been working on a NES version of Chu Chu Rocket since Late February or early March of this year. Now I'm releasing an Alpha version. Download If you read the NESDev forums, you'll see it there too. There is no sound or music yet. It does not yet keep track of which levels you have cleared. Puzzle mode is basically complete. Stage Challenge mode isn't finished: * Missing the 30 second time limit * The 100 mice and Cat Soccer levels don't do anything. There is no multiplayer mode yet. The layout of screens and such is subject to change. Can anyone design better looking "Stage Cleared!" windows? Controls: * Start or A: Confirm or select something * B or Select: Cancel or go back Puzzle Mode: * A + Arrow: place an arrow, replace an arrow, or pick up an arrow * B: Take back the latest placed arrow * Select: Quit, or return to puzzle mode if the game is running. * Start: Set the game in motion! Also toggles double speed mode while the game is running. Stage Challenge: * A + Arrow: place an arrow. You can only have 3 on at a time, and can not place arrows on top of another. Arrows last for 10 seconds before they expire. * Select: Quit Emulator Compatibility: Works great in FCEUX, Nintendulator, Nestopia, VirtuaNES, QuickNES, Mednafen. Screenshots: ![]() Download |

Don't use NESTen, unless you want a headache. Stick with FCEUX, VirtuaNES, Nestopia, Nintendulator, or QuickNES. |

It did bounce all over the place, but nesten is the only emulator I have at work. I will try it again when I get home. (I can't install anything any more to my work PC. They are watching, they are always watching!) Edited: 06/16/2010 at 03:39 PM by RpgCollector |

I'll have to try this at home, mind if I try it on real hardware using the Powerpak?

This is INCREDIBLE. I love it! Amazing job, Dan!
Works great in Nestopia and I did not find any bugs in the 10-15 mins I played it, but I do have a game question: Why does the arrow sometimes shrink/disappear when a cat steps on it but sometimes not? Does it depend on from which direction they approach it? ------------------------- I have no pets, I just play Nintendo all day! |

In puzzle mode, the arrow only shrinks if the cat approaches the arrow from the opposite direction it is pointing. In non-puzzle mode (stage challenge, mutiplayer, etc), any step on an arrow from a cat will shrink it.

Umm...
This is absolutely incredible. Why did you take so long to get to these forums? Now, you're never allowed to leave. This is one of the most amazing ports I've ever seen for the system, you really ought to think about releasing this on a cartridge somewhere down the line. keep up the good work! ------------------------- ![]() Hi, my name is Mark, and I collect Prototypes.
