This is so unbelievablu cool. Not to mention an awesome idea.
I can't wait to see this in action. I better order as soon as they become available this year

Brainstortm here. Would it be possible to impliment the same kind of LCD screen inside of a NES controller like the VMU on a dreamcast and have stuff happen depending on the game being played/selected?

Putting the screen inside the controller would make it far slower to update. Already takes around a second for a full screen and it would be 30s+ in a controller. One image without compression is also larger than almost all homebrews

Mostly done! Menu works, LCD images are all there, games start and can return to the menus. Still need to fix the flash saving (bigger chip has different sector size) so a few more hours of work. Next up is another rev of the PCB which will go out to a few people for final testing.

Interesting. Just stick with what's on the games, or add a track(s) to the "select a year" menu? What will zi do with all his holiday cheer if not 8-Bit Xmas??

Shit looks tight btw. So excited to get this one.

me too   I've actually missed out on every 8bit Xmas cart to date, so this is perfect. Definitely won't be sleeping on this one.

Definitely going to get one. I've gotten only one a few years ago, but not going to miss this.

This looks awesome. Heck, I like just the blinking lights of last year's cartridge, really gives off a festive environment especially during the holidays. I'm glad this year's is a multi-cart of past versions, so for new 8BitXmas fans like me, this is a great alternative to purchasing off ebay.

sounds awesome but expensive. I'm wondering if there will be a "budget friendly" Xmas multi-in-1 without the LCD screen. Colors won't very well show up in a toaster, and the AVS with lid open is oriented wrong.

It sounds like, if you want the full experience you need a toploader.

Nah, I got an AV Famicom with a front facing NES adapter that will do quite nicely!

IIRC Xmas 2015 came out in the beginning of october. In fact today (October 3rd) marks the two year anniversary of my purchase of this title. And the pinball game from '16 begs for a future reissue as AVS classic with more tables.

Sometimes they are for sale at PAGE which is end Of October. I am sure there will be a demo one there. Real question is....can they be personalized this year?

What? Get the fook outta here, this year is going to be awesome! A XMAS multi cart with a LCD label that changes based upon the year. That's beyond cool!
