Ok,

I assume I am not the only one who picks up other cool stuff while game hunting so I figured why not make a permanent thread for everyone to use.

This thread is intended to show all the non gaming items you find while in the wild. Vintage toys, antiques, rarities, commodities, easy items to flip, etc...

I have accumulated a large collection of vintage toys over the years even though i dont actively collect them.

Thread Rules:

1) Post Pictures of the items
2) If needed describe what it is or why its a good "find"
3) Let us know what you paid & Share its potential value if you know it

I think this thread can serve as a great tool for seeing what you should be keeping an eye out for while hunting games.

PM me with any thoughts or ideas.
Thanks,
VGD

Nice snag on that "Great Greetings" thing! I still have the boy version ("Little Van Goes") from when I was a kid.

Is it safe to assume you got both items from the same person?

Sorry in advance, this post got long for a gain of about $90....

I posted this in my own Finder's thread a while back, but one that stands out recently is an IBM 'model-m' keyboard. I managed to find it in-box for $5 at a thrift store with most of its original shrinkwrap, evidently never used. I currently have it hooked up though barely use it, and the box is on a shelf.

But the fact of the matter is that depending on the particular IBM model-m keyboard you have (and model-m is a generic term for mostly 80's and very early 90's IBM keyboards with springs under the keys), the value can be ridiculous. Even the most common models loose and typically very used-condition go for $20+. Check ebay. My buddy is a big fan as well and on some forum, and he got mine boxed appraised at about $95.

TL;DR: Look for IBM "clicky" keyboards at thrift stores. They have actual springs under the keys. People like me are obsessed with them, and people pay stupid prices for them.

I just passed up an in-box black one today. I might have to go back and snag it.

I picked these up a little while ago. I am not sure why I did. I think it was something to do with they still had the tags on them.

Very.

Even as an adult, I would have a hard time not opening up and playing with some of those toys.

Here are some Batman McDonalds cups I got from ebay for about $13.  I really should have gotten a 2nd set because I use them alot.

I still need the frisbee lids if anyone happens to have any lying around.

Nice toy collection. Especially the Motu stuff. Not sure of this was a topic to show your toy room collection though.

That toy room is awesome. Is that at your work too, Johnny? Do you have to fire someone everytime you need to expand?

Got these off of a parts car (at a junkyard) for $60 (paid junk price). Could probably sell them for around $200+ once I get done sanding/polishing them.

Founds these at Goodwill today, $5 a piece as you can see there. Harry's first wand from Ollivander's and Dumbledore's wand aka the Elder wand. I think these are both basically the highest quality commonly available wand replicas out there. Looks like I should be able to get $40-$50 for Dumbledore's and $30-$40 for Harry's.

Haha yeah, I'm really torn between keeping or selling them. Lots of games coming out I'd like cash for but they're freakin' cool. Might keep one and sell the other.

wow, nice. I would have bought those not knowing the value just because i golf. Then i would have sold them when i saw the value. Did you know? Look them up? Or just take a stab in the dark.
