Howdy everyone!
We had quite the success with last year's NES homebrew compo. The cartridge is nearing completion and we're planning out how we'd like to publish the cartridge's CIB.
We've got ~$3.3k of funds built up in the
compo fund.
We're considering investing ~$600 for 200 copies traditional boxes. Or using stoneagegamer's bitboxes which cost ~$2.50ea but don't require any upfront printing investments. This is the cost for the community fund, not the price of CIB vs loose cart for individual buyers.
I made a
poll over on nesdev, and wanted to do so here as well to get the input from the NA portion of the community.
I didn't see a means to create a poll thread, so please just chime in with your vote. Poll added!
We're also planning to make a 60pin famicom version release along with the 72pin NES. If you are interested in purchasing a famicom flavor, and have input on what type of CIB you'd like for that specifically, please speak up. I hear sega bitboxes work well with famicom carts, so I ordered one to test out. Possible we could stuff a famicom cart inside a traditional NES box with a bigger styro or something though.
Thanks!
