Yes a pic would help. Game Boys in general though are a hard one to guess prices as their sales on eBay are like a roller-coaster. it could go for $40 - $150? Depend who's looking at that particular time. Like with everything on ebay you could get lucky or be not so lucky, some things are guaranteed more so than others but like I said Game Boys are not so predictable. I would like to see a pic of this one.

P.S. This isn't mine some guy wants to sell it to me and I really have never bought a new Gameboy before so I was unsure of value. Figured this would be best place to ask.

Really depends on who's looking at what time.

If you're looking for the most money, just through it on eBay for 30 days with a best offer.

Like already stated, I've seen them go all over the place.

Alrighty I'll throw a price out there as no one else has. Since I collect Game Boy units and have purchased a fair few I think I could give a decent guess. It's hard though as I have never bought one on the American eBay before, only Australia. If I HAD to guess a price I think you would get about $75 - $115 if you put it at open auction on ebay. You might be lucky and list it at a time when some die hard Game Boy collectors are after one and get up to $180-ish. I would put it at a 10 day auction with a reserve price for $100 if I had to sell it, but that's me.

I just wanted to add also how very unpredictable Game Boy sales are on eBay, an example:

This original clear Game Boy is at $52.50 with 2 hours to go & it's loose.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NINTENDO-G...

I just won this one in it's original case for $41.01 & it has a few games with it.

Craziness I tell you, craziness!

I would have thought being BRAND NEW and sealed that it would pull $300+ - or a similarly high figure. Brand new systems would have to be at a premium..

I think it should be put on eBay to see what it goes for god damn it lol. I wouldn't imagine $300 but you very well might be right Sam. I am curious to see as I don't recall seeing a factory sealed Game Boy go up for auction, not in Australia anyway.

Hehe, you're absolutely right with the above statements Dane! Gameboy stuff is so hit and miss. I've been lucky buying lots lately that have ended cheaply, whilst a console on it's own can go for a premium. It really shows what affect 'gamers' vs collectors has on pricing..

I don't know what you guys are talking about. That console is $500-$700 easy in that condition.

I was waiting for something like this.

When I walked in here I was thinking $800ish just because I remember a sealed Gameboy sitting on eBay for that amount for a bit before it sold.

I think this item would crap out in open auction for sure, there is not enough market for it at any given time. Sure it's cool to have since it's the original gameboy sealed, but with the price, it's for either sealed, gameboy or console collectors.

In open auction, without any real pushing of the auction, I could see it going for $200-$300 on eBay USA.

There are none of your style gameboy on eBay right now that are sealed from what I saw.

Put it at at 795 BIN with best offers and let it ride for 30 days.

That just blows my mind to pieces more than a Cheech & Chong movie. I guess that is showing the difference between the American & Australian eBay because I just can't imagine it would fetch that much over here. I would honestly be amazed if it went over $200 over here. But if you guys say that's how it is over there I completely believe it. I guess America has a much bigger population & therefore there are just more collectors over there to compete with when an item such as this arises on the market.

Sealed gameboy systems seem a bit more common than sealed console systems. True some have sold for 800+ but only when listed as a high BIN with multiple relists a bit of luck. Usually when they pop up listed as an auction with a low start they go for $200 $300 or so. Sometimes the person who buys it then puts it back up for sale for $800 and it sits there for a while. So for value? Hard to say.

Lol it seems everyone is having the same problem I am having. Its really hard to gauge its worth. I will just ask the guy what her wants for it. If it seems reasonable I will pick it up.

If you pay $200-$300 you can't go wrong.

^I'll top that offer . I haven't seen one of these in open auction in a long while, but $300 would be a steal. Yeah, yeah, it might take a while, but in that condition, you're looking at an easy $500+, especially if someone goes through the expense of having it graded. I even remember one of these selling for $1200 once through a BIN/Best Offer. Crazy, but true.
